Dogs have been part of our history for centuries. This attraction between dog and man has been reflected in the works of great artists, writers and poets.

Cisco is my muse and inspiration, and I just can’t resist his expressive playful gestures.
He gives me so much joy that I want to share it in my art…as it is the spirit and personality of an animal that speaks to me when I paint.

For me, as an artist, this inspires me to focus on dogs in my art. The way in which we pet owners share a strong bond with our pets can be expressed in  many different ways. Motivated by the same pure  love that exists between you and your pet, when I  paint a portrait of your dog, it ignites a passion so strong in me.

As an artist, i am fascinated with more than just the image but instead… that feeling that you get when their love is so deep… this was what i  capture.

As an painter, a dog or cat’s pose becomes sculptural to me – seeing interesting lines, forms and colour. Fascinated by color and movement not only in the pose, but also in a brushstroke of color,  sometimes it about transparencies in color, one layer on top of another; other times it is about texture.

The Canvas Dog Studio was born out of this desire… To look at a painting and capture that loving connection … in a piece of fine art.
