What are the steps to ordering my custom pet portrait painting?
It’s a very simple process. You send me your best photos. You make a deposit and your spot is secured in my client list. I send you a preliminary sketch, you approve it . I invoice you for the remaining balance and once the final payment is cleared I begin working on your portrait painting. When the painting is finished I will send you a final photo of it and you can arrange to pick it up or have it delivered, if you wish. Read more here.
I have a few pets: my cat, horse, bird and dog. Can you paint them all in one portrait painting?
From hounds to horses, and birds to cats, I love all animals and would be honoured to paint your menagerie! Yes I can certainly paint them all on one canvas. While it require more time does to arrange into a suitable composition so that it looks pleasing, it is something I am quite experienced at.
I don’t live near you. Do you have to meet my dog in order to paint his portrait?
While it wonderful to meet you and your pet, it’s not absolutely necessary as I work from photos. You may live in another region or abroad in another country, or alas, your pet is no longer with you or perhaps this painting is a gift to a loved one.
In fact, I try to get get information from talking with you, about your pet’s personality, as well as from photos, and that is what I infuse into his portrait.
How do I know if I will like my pet portrait painting / drawing? I want the very best.
With my many years experience as a professional pet portrait artist, I have worked out a process that works. You will also be able to view the progress of the painting. If there is something that you don’t like, just let me know and I can make the necessary changes. I want you to be happy. It’s as simple as that.
Here’s what others have to say in their testimonials.
If you love the photos you send me, and you have seen my gallery of paintings and drawings – you will love your pet’s portrait. If there is one of my paintings that you particularly like – the style, the background, just let me know. Bottom line… I want you to be happy.
What size are your portrait paintings?
Popular sizes range from 12″ x 16″ to 4ft X 6 ft.
Also, Large Murals are also my specialty.
If there is a size that you want to fit a certain room or space, let me know and I can accommodate.
How do I know if the photo I’m sending is OK for painting his portrait?
If you have any questions about your photo, you can email several to me for evaluation. I also suggest that you look at the section titled “Tips on Photographing Your Dog”
If you don’t have the time to take photos, and would like me to photograph your pet, I charge a nominal fee to cover my time and gas. If you are out of my area, I can suggest a few photographers whom I have used.
I want to give a custom painting as a gift but I don’t have the photo – What can you do?
Not a problem! A gift certificate is the answer. It’s quick and sure to be a wondrous surprise. I can email it to them or mail it by post.
How long will I have to wait?
In general, drawings may take 1 to 2 weeks time, depending on how busy my schedule is.
With a custom pet portrait painting, you can expect to receive a preliminary sketch of your painting within 2 weeks. Then depending on the size and complexity, it will take 4 to 8 weeks for your painting to be completed. During rush periods like Christmas, I suggest placing your order 12 weeks prior.
What are your prices?
Know what your budget is… And the size you would like. Then let’s talk! As each painting is unique… I would be happy to discuss prices with you once I know the size, style and background you want in your pet’s portrait painting.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Cash, cheque and money order; or if you prefer major credit card payments through Paypal.
Hi,
Firstly, I love your work! I am interested in getting a portrait done for my mother for her birthday. She has 3 dogs. An off-white standard poodle, and 2 brown/tan labradoodles. Looking for something around 16X20 inches in size, as there are 3 dogs. I am curious about pricing, as I am budget conscious, I am wondering if there are any ways we could keep the price down?
Thank you and look forward to hearing back!
